Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
Guy Lafleur scored the 549th goal of his NHL career – his first of the 1990-91 season – with this Chimo game-used stick that he signed and gifted to his Quebec Nordiques teammate, Tony McKegney, after the Nordiques’ 8-5 win over Toronto at Maple Leaf Gardens on October 10, 1990. Lafleur signed “To Tony, best wishes, Guy Lafleur 10, 1990” in black marker on two strands of white hockey stick tape that were applied to the front of the blade, which had Guy’s original tape job removed. Lafleur’s tape job with his No. “10” handwritten in marker remains on the knob and “Lafleur G. 10” is stamped on the shaft. Awesome signed Lafleur stick he used to score the first goal of his last NHL season.
Game use shows in wear to the bottom edge of the blade and chips to the paint on the shaft.
