Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015

It was the Canadiens’ Guy Carbonneau who would be presented the team’s 1983-84 Molson Cup Trophy, a fine accolade for a fellow not always known for his point-getting (although he was quite adept at that also), but for his value to his team with his legendary two-way, shot blocking, penalty-killing style that got his team out of jams on a nightly basis. Offered is Carbonneau’s original ’83-84 Molson Cup, measuring 8 ½” high, reading as “Coupe Molson Cup” on the silver-colored bowl, and “1983-84 Guy Carbonneau” on the plaque affixed to the 9" square wooden base. An awesome and important award from a key player, in excellent condition aside from bowl tarnishing and a couple of slight dings to the edges of the wood, capped off by Guy’s signature in silver marker under the base. Comes with a signed LOA from Mr. Carbonneau.
The Molson Cup, a distinguished and valued award, has been presented yearly since 1972 and goes to players from the Canadian teams who have accumulated the most “three-star” selections during the regular season.
