Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Featuring Mr. Hockey along with his beloved Detroit Red Wings, we have a nice grouping of Motown items, with a signed baseball, puck and photos, along with a signed Production Line display and multi-signed lithograph. The Production Line display is framed to roughly 14” x 18”, with a triple-matted photo signed by Howe, Abel and Lindsay in gold, with a name plaque and Red Wings/NHL pins inserted below. With no issues for the signatures, the display remains in wonderful condition, with light wear to the frame. The multi-signed lithograph is entitled Canadian Dreams and measures roughly 24” x 31”, with approx. 22 signing, mostly in black marker including Yvan Cournoyer, the Mahovlich brothers and others. Numbered “158/350”, the lithograph has a few surface indentations along with creases to the lower right corner. Next, we have a Howe signed Trench Red Wings puck with “Mr Hockey” added, along with a Howe signed Rawlings 1992 World Series ball that exhibits toning, followed by an 8 ½” Howe signed Dominion China Heritage plate numbered “8382A” in gorgeous condition with the original box. The signed photos (mostly 8” x 10”) include one of Howe with Ted Lindsay, one signed by Pilote and Bathgate (Andy pictured as a Red Wing), one of Howe with both his sons (with all in Whalers uniforms), a black and white photo signed by Lindsay and HOF referee Red Storey, with individual photos signed by Abel, Vachon, F. Mahovlich and Bill Gadsby, for a total of 8 signed photos. There is also a 6 ½” x 11” Jake’s advertising piece from 1991 signed by Howe along with his son Marty. Rounding out the lot we have an unsigned InGlasCo Red Wings puck, along with a Howe postcard, unsigned 8” x 10” photos of Sawchuk and Howe, along with a trio of publications including the June 1994 edition of Canadian Sportscard Collector that pictures Howe on the cover.
