Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019

Enlisting in the U.S. Naval Reserve after the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941, Gerald Ford acted as the U.S. representative from Michigan's 5th congressional district for over two decades. Appointed to the vice presidency following the resignation of Spiro Agnew, Ford automatically assumed the presidency after the resignation of Richard Nixon, serving as the 38th President of the United States, in office from August 9, 1974, to January 20, 1977. We have a trio of signed calling cards, with a pair signed by Ford, along with an example signed by First Lady Betty Ford. At just under 2 ½” x 4”, “The White House Washington” appears over the upper right portion on the matching cards signed by the president and the First Lady, with the third card also signed by Ford, with gilded edges along with a presidential seal. The matching “The White House Washington” cards both have no issues, with the Ford signed in black ink, the Betty Ford in blue, with the third card signed by Ford in black fiber-tip marker, with just very minimal fading to the signature, along with a bit of paper loss over the reverse. Ford passed in 2006 at the age of 93. A pair of LOAs from JSA will accompany, along with three additional COAs.
