The main arena facility in St. Cathrines, Ontario from its construction in 1938 on ward until the opening of the Meridian Centre in 2014, the Garden City Arena Complex, housed two (2) ice pads with the larger one, affectionately known as "The Jack" after local sportswriter Jack Gatecliff, playing host to teams such as the St. Cathrines Falcons (OHA - 1943-47), Teepees (OHA - 1947-62), Black Hawks (OHA/OMJHL - 1962-76), Fincups (OMJHL - 1977-78), Saints (AHL - 1982-86) and finally, the Niagara IceDogs (OHL - 2007-14). Demolished in 2023, offered here is this wooden double seat that was used in the legendary facility. Measuring roughly 37 1/2" wide by 28" high at its largest points, the blue coloured wooden double seat is an aisle offering with a metal armrest at one end while the framing is done in metal as well. Displaying with the numbers "1" and "2" stencilled to the seat back, the piece remains in good condition for its age though does shows numerous marks/abrasions throughout with spots of paint loss and bare wood being observed. Additionally, different colours of blue are observed throughout the piece from all the repaints that it got throughout the years with some red and white paint splatter present as well. With the heaviest wear found over the backside of the piece, the metal framing and mounts show varying degrees of rusting as well. Of note, due to the size and weight of the item, special shipping arrangements may be required.
