Shutting-out the current Stanley Cup champion-Colorado Avalanche in two games of the second round of the 2000-01 Stanley Cup playoffs, Felix Potvin backstopped the Los Angeles Kings in 23 occasions during his first of three seasons in Tinseltown, with the offered blocker and glove combination photo-matched to both the 2000-01 regular season and playoffs. Brian’s Airlite models in navy and royal blue, “Felix Potvin” is embroidered to each, with a Felix the Cat leather patch added to the glove. Moderate game-use is exhibited on the pair, with surface wear and puck marks to the face of the blocker and light wear to the palm, with a few marks to the glove along with a grey reinforcing patch added to the pocket. There is also some salting to the grommets on each item. Hailing from his personal collection, a signed LOA from Felix Potvin will accompany.
Getty Image #147493236 (March 2001) has been matched to numerous marks on the edges of the blocker including in the lower white section, with a few black marks along the edges of the cuff of the glove as well as the placement of the strings used to attach the added protection in the pocket also matching. This is followed by Getty Image #569114403 (May 9, 2001 – playoffs), matched to a number of black marks, especially the longer examples in the lower white section of the blocker, with the black thread stuck in the Velcro on the back of the glove also matching. Additionally, Getty Image #571784 (April 23, 2001 – playoffs) has been matched to the two dark black marks on the upper middle edge of the cuff of the glove, while Getty Image #623698 (April 21, 2001) has been matched to black marks, especially the longer examples in the lower white section of the blocker.
