Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020

Awarded thirty-three times to seventeen different clubs since its inception during the 1985–86 season, the President’s Trophy is presented annually to the NHL team that finishes first overall at the conclusion of the regular season. This President’s Trophy replica was presented to superstar HOF netminder Ed Belfour for the Dallas Stars status as NHL champions during the 1998-99 season. At 16” in height, a striking miniature President's Trophy in silver plate stands upon a three-tier wooden base, with three hockey sticks mounted over three silver columns helping to support a shallow, removable bowl. An engraved plaque naming the trophy along with “Ed Belfour” and “Dallas Stars 1999” is affixed over the front, and we should note that the upper section is currently detached from the wooden base. Belfour would be awarded William M. Jennings Trophy in 1998-99, with his minuscule 1.99 GAA and .915 save percentage adding to the Stars success. A signed LOA from Ed Belfour will accompany.
There is even oxidation over the column section, with the top rim that secures the loose bowl slightly bent, with surface wear over the rim itself. The wooden base also shows some surface wear, with a chip over an upper edge.
