Winning a record thirteen J. Ross Robertson Cups as OHL champions, the Oshawa Generals have also secured five Memorial Cup titles, with a number of stars enlisted by the Generals including Bobby Orr, Eric Lindros and John Tavares. We have a Generals jersey that originates from the early-1970s, with a pair of players donning the number #4 sweater during the era, including Gerry Methe in 1969-70 and 1970-71, and Rick Fraser in 1971-72, 1972-73 and 1973-74. The style worn from 1969-70 to 1973-74 according to the team photos in the book "A History of the Oshawa Generals", a torn and partially detached Wilson label remains along the inside of the tie-neck collar, with the vintage durene sweater measuring out to roughly a size 52. Styled with “Oshawa” placed diagonally across the chest in individual blue-over-white tackle twill letters, “4” appears over the sleeves and verso in matching material.
A few marks are visible over the front including a stick mark beneath the team crest, with a large fabric pull over the left breast. A few holes are present over the right sleeve including a larger example at the elbow, with three repairs over each sleeve. There is also a hole over the reverse hem, with a bit of light staining over the shoulders.
