A two-time James Norris winner as the NHL’s premier defenceman during his career with the Chicago Blackhawks, Duncan Keith won a trio of Stanley Cup championship while patrolling the Chicago blueline during his 17-year National Hockey League career, playing all but 64 of his 1256 career games played in The Windy City. Offered here, we present this collection of equipment used by Keith including a pair of gloves, a pair of skates and a helmet.
Starting with the gloves, made by Warrior and worn by the blueliner during the 2011-12 campaign in which he registered 40 points in 74 games played, the gauntlets are in Chicago's black, red and white colours and have "Keith" embroidered into both wrist guards. In overall good condition and displaying with game-wear in the form of rubbing to both palms, a patched hole in the right palm, red colour bleed on the right palm plus stick, slash and scuff marks over the outside of both, some fraying/rubbing to the leather is observed in areas of both mittens and the pinky plus ring fingers of the right glove have been sewn together. Signed by Keith with silver marker ink signatures over the upper thumb area of both with each autograph displaying without issue, the stalwart d-man has added an inscription reading "Game Used 2011-2012" in matching silver ink to the left glove which has had a hologram affixed to it. Additionally, the pair have been photo-matched with Getty Image #134181680 (November 23rd, 2011 vs San Jose) to in the "W" and "A" of Warrior on the right cuff.
For the skates, Nike Bauer made Vapour XXXX models that each have stickers reading "Keith 1/2" affixed to the bottoms along with a penned number "2" in silver marker, the original laces are laced through the eyelets and the insoles have been removed. Showing strong game-use, both skates show numerous marks, abrasions, cuts, scuffs and loss of material to the blade holders and boots while fraying is seen on each toe cap along with cracks in each cap as well. Additionally, the skates have been photo-matched with Getty Image #78151149 (November 25th, 2007 vs Vancouver) to stick/puck marks on the outside of the right boot and the sticker placement on the bottom of the right skate.
Lastly, for the helmet, used by Keith circa the 2005-06 or 2006-07 seasons, the white coloured CCM made Tacks 852 model bucket was made in August 2005 according to the sticker on the interior and has had an Oakley visor affixed to the front of the piece while all the padding plus scraping harness is present and accounted and remains in good condition. Displaying with Blackhawks logo decals over each side along with Keith's number "2" on the back, an NHL shield sticker is affixed to the lower reverse. Exhibiting just light-to-moderate game-use, a handful of scratches, scuffs and abrasions are present throughout with rusting observed over the chinstrap snap and some light sweat staining on the interior.
