Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Seeing over 100 games of NHL action split amongst Winnipeg, Chicago and Pittsburgh, Doug Lecuyer first spent three seasons in the WCHL with Edmonton, scoring 72 points in each of the two seasons this Edmonton Oil Kings jersey was worn, in 1974-75 and 1975-76. Very similar in style to the WHA Oilers’ jerseys of the era, a Maska label with washed-out laundering instructions both sit affixed to the collar, with the Maska label almost detached. Styled with an attractive team crest, the blue “Oil Kings” graphics have sadly worn, with the vintage durene V-neck accented with dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with no nameplate present. Measuring across the reverse from armpit to armpit, the jersey measures 26”, which equates to roughly a size 52.
Regarding use, the jersey is absolutely smashed with heavy wear to the front and sleeves, with small holes, light staining and team repairs present. There is also some paint transfer over the lower left sleeve along with the aforementioned wear to the team crest, with additional large repairs over the reverse and right shoulder.
