Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015

Suiting up for a number of leagues throughout his career including the AHL, EHL and SM-liiga, Barry Salovaara’s also spent the better part of two seasons with the NHL’s Detroit Red Wings. This Wilson Detroit Red Wings jersey was game-worn in the mid-1970s and it's been attributed to Salovaara. With proper Wilson size 48 tag in collar, and garter-style fight strap in place, this jersey sports tackle twill numbers on the back and sleeves. With evidence of a former nameplate being removed, possibly an NBC game of the week nameplate. Good game-use is noted with a number of puck and stick marks on the garment’s front and sleeves, as well as five different team repairs isolated to both elbows with the exception of one on the lower front. With good visible game-use and the forever-classic winged wheel logo, this jersey will fit nicely into any prominent ‘70s collection.
Wilson size 48 tag in the collar, numerous team repairs, garter-style fight strap, evidence of a former nameplate (NBC game of the week nameplate?)
1975-76 had 50th patch? on all jerseys???
From number's book

1975-76 Salovaara listed as wearing #28 (and have photo of him with #28)
