Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Beginning in the OHA with his hometown Niagara Falls Flyers in 1962-63 and concluding with 21 games shared between three CHL clubs in 1977-78, Derek Sanderson enjoyed a wonderful career in hockey, with the offered group of items from his personal collection ranging throughout his hockey tenure. Included, we have four vintage crests including a trio of Bruins examples signed (6-7”) along with a thick chenille 1963-64 Niagara Falls Flyers uniform crest, a rarely-seen original early-1970s Mellos caramels window advertising poster (7” x 18”), a 1971 Sanderson American Publishing puzzle in the original box, a twice-signed copy of the hard cover ‘Crossing the Line’, a framed photo celebrating Sanderson’s Calder win in 1968 (10 ½” x 12 ½”), a 1970s “Derek is unreal” sweater (small size), a dozen programs including a few 1960s NF Flyers and Kitchener Rangers examples, a Golden Bear Bruins jacket with leather sleeves and more! A signed LOA from Derek Sanderson will accompany.
Also included, we have 8 modern signed hockey cards (1990s, with duplication). The Mellos poster shows wear including fold lines, an edge tear and toning over the reverse, with a few small creases also visible. The puzzle box shows wear, and we are unsure if it’s complete. The programs all show moderate to heavier wear, with the jacket and sweater in beautiful condition, appearing if they were never worn.
