Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Starring for the New York Rangers after his especially successful time in a Boston Bruins uniform, Derek Sanderson would spend the 1974-75 season on Broadway with the Blueshirts, transitioning to the St Louis Blues late in 1975. The 1976-77 season would witness Sanderson on the west coast with Vancouver before his final thirteen NHL games with Pittsburgh, in 1977-78. Hailing from his personal collection, we have skates Turk wore during his swan-song season in Pennsylvania in 1977-78. CCM’s famous “Super Tacks” models with Prolite blades, the size 10 ½ skates feature intact laces (with red staining), with screened identifiers. We should note that photos seem to be showing Sanderson wearing the matching model with the Blues in 1975-76 and 1976-77, so the skates were also possibly worn then as well. A signed LOA from Derek Sanderson will accompany.
Moderate use is exhibited on the pair, with wear to the leather in spots and some rusting to the blades. There is also surface loss along each tongue and over each upper reverse.
