Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016

Rookie Guy Lafleur is among the 10 members of the 1971-72 Montreal Canadiens who have signed this Denis DeJordy game-used Victoriaville Pro goalie stick. The Flower, who was chosen first overall by the Habs in 1971, has placed a blue ballpoint autograph from his first NHL season on the back of the shaft just below Denis’ intact white tape knob. Guy Lapointe and Claude Larose have signed high on the shaft, which has “30” and “DeJordy” stamped on it. J.C. Tremblay, Serge Savard, Pierre Bouchard, Pete Mahovlich, Rejean Houle, Marc Tardif and Frank Mahovlich have signed in ascending order upwards from the paddle on the back of the shaft. DeJordy played 7 games with the Habs, who acquired him from L.A. along with Dale Hoganson, Noel Price and Doug Robinson in the November 4, 1971 trade that sent Rogie Vachon to the Kings. The blade, which has a few small cracks on the bottom edge of the heel, retains most of DeJordy’s black tape job, with a few strands missing on the lower paddle. Nice game use here on this otherwise solid gamer with four HOF signatures, including a Guy Lafleur rookie autograph!
