Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/20/2022
Forever immortalized as the first netminder to regularly don facial protection, Jacques Plante remains one of the greatest goaltenders in history, with his early passing in 1986 leaving a void for autograph collectors. We have just that, with a postcard from the early-1970s signed by the legendary keeper (Plante was with the Leafs for three seasons, from 1970-71 to 1972-73). At 3 ½” x 5 ½”, the postcard pictures the HOF member in his full Leafs uniform, with Jacques adding a gorgeous dark ink ballpoint signature with the "P" of "Plante" a bit light, with a personalization and date of "29/1/71". The postcard shows no issues and has been set into a 5" x 7" matte, affixed with masking tape at the top and bottom of the reverse. A JSA LOA will accompany.
