Fittingly, Ray Bourque would score the game winning goal in front of the Bruins hopeful, as the 1996 NHL All-Star Game was held at the Fleet Center with over 17,000 witnessing the Eastern Conference slip past the Western, with hometown hero Bourque also named as the contest’s MVP. This Eastern Conference jersey was worn by fellow Bruin Cam Neely, and it’s been signed. A Center Ice label with size 56 fly tag sit affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests on the back bottom hem. Featuring a partially embroidered twill “Eastern” team crest, the sweater has been accented with double-twill numbers with the name on verso sewn directly onto the garment. The important 1996 NHL All-Star Game patch rests over the right shoulder, while a Bruins spoked-B crest resides over the left. A Sports Registry label has been heat-pressed onto the interior just above the fight strap, and it indicates that this was one of five jerseys worn for either the official photo shoot, pre-game warm-up or in one of the three periods. Neely has also added a beautiful black marker signature to the interior, on the reverse side of the team crest, and it displays well. Discernible game-wear includes just a few faint marks on the lower front, along with an additional mark on the left sleeve. An LOA from the NHLPA will accompany.
