Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/1/2024
Playing his junior hockey with both the Kingston Canadiens and Niagara Falls Thunder in the Ontario Hockey League, Bryan Fogarty would hear his name called 9th overall by the Quebec Nordiques at the 1987 NHL Entry Draft and would go on to play a total of 156 games in his National Hockey League career for Quebec as well as the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens. Offered here, we present this Quebec Nordiques jersey worn by Fogarty during the 1990-91 season in which he registered a career high thirty-one (31) points in forty-five (45) games played. Made by CCM and displaying a lone Maska Ultrafil label affixed to the inner collar that displays a faded size "54" designation in ballpoint pen ink, the emblems of both CCM and the NHL shield have been embodied into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a Nordiques team crest in layered tackle twill style, heat-pressed fleur-de-lys are found over the lower front and reverse as well as both shoulders which show light cracking that is commonly seen on these pre-1991 Quebec jerseys. Styled over the sleeves and verso with Fogarty's number "43' in white heat-pressed numerals, "Fogarty" is spelt out in matching style across the affixed matching nameplate over the upper reverse. Still sporting its original fight strap on the interior along with good pilling inside the lower reverse and at both elbows, additional game-wear is observed through stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves plus board burns over both sleeves as well and sweat staining around the collar.
