All-Star American defenseman Brian Rafalski wore this photo-matched 2002-03 New Jersey Devils playoff game-worn jersey during the Stanley Cup Final against Anaheim! Rafalski and the Devils won the Cup for the second time in four years in a seven-game showdown against the Mighty Ducks. A Getty Images photo from Game 1 on May 27 shows the black mark on the lower front white band and the two small black marks on the lower right sleeve near the seam. The 2003 Stanley Cup Finals patch is sewn on the right breast and size 52 flag tag sits in the back of the neck. More game wear includes black marks on the right rear tail, more marks and solid board burns on the sleeves and shoulders, with burn holes on the right sleeve and left shoulder.
The MeiGray NHL Game-Worn Jersey 2002-03 Season registry patch is sewn inside the rear tail.
The bumps in the middle “8” of red and black double twill No. 28 sewn on the left sleeve are also visible in the Getty photo, but not clear enough for a definitive match.
