One of the all-time greatest players in the history of the National Hockey League, with his skill set and ferocious play seldomly ever being matched, the late great Bobby Hull earned endless hardware throughout his HOF career including the Lester Patrick, Hart Memorial and Lady Byng, along with a trio of Art Ross Trophies. Hailing from the 1963-64 season that saw him score 43 goals and 87 points, is this stick wielded by "The Golden Jet". A Northland Pro model twig with "B. Hull" stamped over the shaft and his now famed "9" penned in black marker, the 1963-64 season was the first year that Hull wore the number and also be the year he would start using his now iconic "banana hook" blades. Featuring stamps from team supplier "Gunzo's" over each side plus others for "Northland Ski Mfg" in the same area, the stick retains Bobby's original black tape job over the handle/knob and blade with the blade tape having come away from the wood underneath it. Featuring a slightly shaved handle but not as much as seen on later Hull models due to an injury caused by a car accident, the stick how's good game-use via numerous dark marks and abrasions over the lower portion of the shaft plus heel area while other marks and abrasions are seen throughout as well. Sporting a pair of black accent stripes over the lower shaft, it is also worth noting that the blade shows numerous cracks while an additional one is present in the blade stem area also. Signed by Hull over the shaft with a vintage black marker ink signature that displays without issue, also included with the stick is a pair of gloves attributed to longtime Black Hawks coach, Billy Reay, whom they were acquired from. Heavily worn CCM Custom Pro model gauntlets in Chicago's red, white and black colours, numerous sewing repairs are seen in the fingers done in thick black thread while heavy rubbing, loss of colour and stick marks are seen throughout. Having had "Mach" penned to the interior of each glove in black marker ink with what appears to have been a jersey number crossed out, the original laces are no longer found in the wrists and one edge of the right thumb guard is torn. Reay coached the Black Hawks for a total of fourteen (14) seasons beginning in 1963-64 til partway through 1976-77, leading Chicago to a trio of Stanley Cup Finals appearances.
