Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
A rare opportunity, Classic Auctions is pleased to announce yet another partnership with the historic Montreal Canadiens franchise, one that will bring to auction a large and impressive bounty of jerseys fresh from the vast and seldom offered holdings of the storied hockey club. Examples are present from 2002-03 to 2014-15, with both important game-issued and game-worn jerseys offered, with a direct line from the actual player and the Canadiens franchise – to you, our loyal bidders. Each desirable jersey has inventory numbers from the Canadiens, with each to be accompanied by a letter of authenticity on Canadiens letterhead, with this section of impressive jerseys offered online with the familiar Classic Auction bidding rules applying.
Classic red Montreal Canadiens game-issued home jersey with the alternate captain’s “A” sewn on the left breast was done up for All-Star defenseman Andrei Markov. The Russian veteran had an assist in his first regular season game in over a year on March 10, 2012 in Montreal’s 4-1 win over Vancouver, and finished his injury-shortened campaign with three assists after returning from knee surgery that limited his season to 13 games. A size 56 flag tag sits in the back of the neck of Markov’s 2011-12 game-issued jersey, which has a Canadiens Game-Worn Jersey patch sewn inside the rear tail that displays No. A02988. The Canadiens hologram sticker applied to the bottom of the “9” on the back has registry No. GU11241, which corresponds to the team LOA that accompanies this jersey. There is a blue ballpoint pen mark on the right side of the white twill of the “9” sewn on the back.
