Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
The brother of former players Neal and Paul, Aaron Broten suited up for six different NHL clubs during his 13 season career, with the bulk of his time spent with New Jersey. This Toronto Maple Leafs jersey was worn by Broten in 1990-91. Maska Ultrafil tagging remains attached to the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL patches on the back bottom hem. Styled with the classic Leafs crest along with tackle twill numbers and name-on-nameplate, with the vintage-style “H.E. Ballard” memorial patch over the right breast. We should note that although most of the jerseys from this set had the Ballard patch removed and reattached after the 1991-92 pre-season, we can see no evidence of the patch being removed and reattached.
Game-wear includes marks on the front and back of the lower band, along with a stick mark on the left sleeve below the numbers. There are also single board burns over each elbow, as well as a few small stains on the interior section just below the neckline.
