Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
This gorgeous signed limited-edition retirement night lithograph was made to honor Habs legend Yvan Cournoyer. Cournoyer and the artist have signed this limited print, numbered “95/100”. Beautifully framed to 26” by 30”, this particular litho was obtained directly from Yvan Cournoyer and will come with his signed letter of authenticity. Accompanying the lithograph is a signed Cournoyer photo, and the Hockey Hall of Fame medallion from the night in 1982 that Yvan and others were enshrined. What a memorable night and what a fantastic tribute to a memorable career! The amazing artwork of Michel Lapensee captures Yvan Cournoyer at various stages of his career and is like the original presented to Yvan on November 12, 2005 when the Montreal Canadiens retired the number “12” which was worn with such great pride and honor by Dickie Moore and the man affectionately known as “The Roadrunner.” Images of a young Cournoyer, of him with the Conn Smythe Trophy, scoring on Tony Esposito, hoisting the Stanley Cup, shaking hands with Boris Mikhailov and in his Habs ambassador’s role surround the big in-action image. The signed and framed 15" x 18" photo of Cournoyer has been autographed in silver sharpie, it has a frozen pond hologram affixed, and its in beautiful condition. The medallion comes in a tasteful presentation box with the NHL logo on front. Members listed on the coin that were honored on Sept. 8 1982 with Cournoyer include Francis, Gilbert and Norm Ullman.
