Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
First visiting the historic venue as a 6-year old, Wayne Gretzky saw action in 29 regular-season games throughout his career at the hallowed Maple Leaf Gardens, with 30 goals scored along with 45 assists. Produced by WGA, we have a limited-edition framed photo display of Wayne during his final game at MLG, on Dec 19, 1998, signed by the iconic superstar. At 16” x 20”, the legend is pictured in his Rangers uniform at center ice, with a hologram over the bottom left and the limited-edition number of “66/99”. Wayne has added a large and flowing silver paint pen signature that displays brilliantly, with the photo double-matted and framed to approx 24” x 30”. We should also note some wear and blemishes to the frame including a tear to the envelope on the back of the frame. Arguably his favorite building to play in, Wayne has called Maple Leaf Gardens “the church of hockey”.
