Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
The 2003 Heritage Classic “MegaStars” game featured notable Stanley Cup winners from both competing teams, with Wayne Gretzky leading the Edmonton Oilers alums, and Guy Lafleur leading the Montreal Canadiens. The Oilers would take the victory 2-0, with jubilant spectators at Commonwealth Stadium enjoying seeing the legends compete. We have a stick signed by The Great One, with this model identical to the examples he used in the Heritage Classic "MegaStars" game. A TPS Response Plus model in dark red finish with white, black and silver accents, “Gretzky 99” factory graphics appear over the upper shaft, with a black gripper over the handle. Wayne has signed over the front side of the blade in silver, with the beginning of an original signature done beneath in thinner silver marker. With just a bit of wear to the signature from handling, the stick remains in gorgeous condition.
