Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
During the NHL strike in 1994-95 when the players were locked out by the league, the NHLPA organized a "4-on-4 Challenge" tournament in Hamilton, Ontario, with four players and a goalie on the ice, raising money for charity and featuring many NHL superstars including Patrick Roy, Luc Robitaille, Brett Hull, Joe Sakic, Doug Gilmour and others. Consigned by the individual who had the NHLPA jerseys made for the tournament, he also had pro, on-ice Wayne Gretzky jerseys made, and we offer a pair that have been signed by The Great One. Matching in style with Pro Wear labeling and 54 sizing affixed to the collars, the Bauer jerseys have sublimated team crests with "99" in tackle twill to the sleeves and verso, with "Gretzky" across the nameplate in matching material. Wayne has signed each on the first "9" in black marker, with the signatures displaying wonderfully. Also included with the jerseys, there is a NHLPA Hockey Tips VHS cassette with Gretzky cover, an NHLPA Be a Player folder with 9 Upper Deck NHLPA cards including Lindros, Modano, Gilmour and others, and a set of 24 oversized NHLPA Post cereal cards including Gretzky, Chelios, Lindros, Bourque, Fedorov, Sakic, Bure, Brodeur and others (corner wear to the group). A JSA Auction LOA will accompany for the signed jerseys.
