This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
Highly desirable as examples hailing directly from a player, we have a wonderful collection of Summit Series-related pieces - including a team-signed uncut card sheet along with a team-signed “Team of the Century” lithograph – originating from the personal collection of Team Canada member Vic Hadfield. The 20” x 22 ½” uncut sheet features cards from Heritage Hockey, with 26 signing over their respective image including Hadfield, along with Dionne, Lapointe, Henderson, the Mahovlich brothers and others. The 21 ½” x 25 ½” “Team of the Century” litho features cameos of the players encompassing the Canadian Parliament, numbered “11/40 PE” (player’s edition), with the artist Daniel Parry signing in pencil. 23 have signed near their respective image, including Gilbert, Savard, Cournoyer and others. A signed LOA from Mr. Hadfield will accompany, along with additional COAs for both signed pieces.
Others that have signed the uncut card sheet include Stapleton, Ellis, Park, Cashman, Cournoyer, Hadfield, Hull, Gilbert, Seiling, White, Mikita, Parise, Savard, Redmond, Awrey, Glennie, Guevremont, Martin and Tony Esposito. With just touches to the two top corners, the uncut sheet remains in wonderful condition. Other signers on the litho include Sinden, Johnston, Ellis, Seiling, Martin, Lapointe, Glennie, T. Esposito, P. Mahovlich, Ferguson, Stapleton, Dionne, Parise, Guevremont, Tallon, Awrey and Brad Park. The litho exhibits just light wear, with no issues for the signatures. As an added bonus, a second uncut card sheet is included (20” x 28” unsigned), with this appearing to be a proof.
