Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/15/2016
Always desirable, antique hockey photography allows collectors and historians to contemplate the early game in all its simplistic wonderment. This early-1900s photo captures that very sentiment. At roughly 11” x 16" (exposed), the large format photo features a full team and executives with two spares, attractively attired in wool sweaters with an “NE” monogram. Early equipment abounds, with the goaltender in early white pads along with one-piece sticks and pre-tubular skates. The photo exhibits some creasing in the lower right, and it’s been matted and framed to total dimensions of roughly 20 ¾” x 25 ¾”. We should note that the frame shows issues, including a few dings, marks and chips.
