Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017

Originally available through Canadian chain Dominions, we have a desirable souvenir of the Toronto Maple Leafs' Stanley Cup victory in the spring of 1963. This silver colored serving tray features the image of hockey's ultimate prize and the Prince of Wales Trophy, along with facsimile autographs of the men who brought the Leafs their second of three consecutive Cup titles. Handled tray measures just over 10" by 17" and remains in gorgeous condition as NOS, with just a bit of wear and a few tiny blemishes and scratches. Comes complete with its 10 ½” x 19 ½” original two-piece box which shows considerable wear to the lid, with the bottom flap detached but present and the right side almost detached. Corners are also split, with clear tape added at some point to attempt to rectify the problem. Still wrapped in the original tissue paper, the tray will nicely augment any Original Six era Leafs holdings.
Toronto claimed the regular season crown in 1962-63 with 82 points, one ahead of Chicago. The Leafs added the Cup to their hardware haul by dispatching Montreal and Detroit in the playoffs, both in five games. Dave Keon set a record with two shorthanded goals in the Leafs' 3-1 Cup clincher over the Red Wings at Maple Leaf Gardens.
