Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
From a season that witnessed the Toronto Maple Leafs advancing to the Stanley Cup finals, Charlie Conacher and Bill Thoms would both lead the score sheet for the Blue and White in 1935-36, with each scoring the exact same amount of goals and assists, with Red Horner registering as hefty 167 PIM. We have a mini stick team-signed my members of the 1935-36 Leafs. At approx 18 ½” in length (including the blade), the one-piece stick feature’s 14 pencil signatures over one side of the blade and shaft (there are 13 different signers, with Busher Jackson signing twice), including HOF members Hainsworth, Conacher, Jackson, Clancy, Primeau and Hap Day. A few of the signatures are a bit light, with the majority displaying well.
The remaining signers include Thoms, Boll, A. Jackson, Kelly, Blair, Davidson and Frank Finnigan. We should note that the players signing were with the Leafs in both 1934-35 and 1935-36, with the stick attributed to the 1935-36 season due to the inclusion of Davidson (only played 5 games in 1934-35) and Finnigan (saw action in 11 games in 1934-35).
