Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/3/2015
Incredible piece of Toronto Maple Leafs history is this original 1935-36 Maple Leafs hand-painted dressing room wood sign that once hung in Maple Leaf Gardens. Smythe, Selke and Irvin head up the cast of HOFers that include captain Hap Day and the likes of Horner, Primeau, Conacher, Jackson, Clancy and Hainsworth with the Leafs’ regular season record at the bottom for a season that saw Toronto reach the Stanley Cup final for the fourth time in five seasons. Lettering is hand-painted in blue on an aged white background with a Masonite backing, all displayed in its original blue wood frame. The original Waddington's tag remains attached from the MLG November 2000 auction. Various marks to the frame and sign testify to its place as a display piece in Maple Leaf Gardens history.
