Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
From his most successful era in the NHL as the winner of Stanley Cup, Vezina, and Conn Smythe trophies in 2010-11, we offer a group of equipment used by Tim Thomas with the Boston Bruins including photo-matched blockers (2, one is matched to both the regular season and 2012 NHL All-Star Game), glove and 2008 NHL All-Star Game pant shells, with each item hailing from his personal collection. First, the blockers (2) and glove all have "Thomas" embroidered, with initials from Kay Whitmore as acting goaltending supervisor for the NHL. The matching style Reebok Larceny blockers are both photo-matched to the 2011-12 regular season - with one also matched to the 2012 NHL All-Star Game. Getty Images #137906585 (January 29, 2012 NHL All-Star Game) and #136945474 (January 13, 2012 Boston vs Montreal) have both been matched to a number of marks on the front of one of the blockers, while Getty Image #141300283 (March 13, 2012 Boston vs Pittsburgh) has been matched to a number of marks on the front of the second blocker. This is followed by a Vaughn Epic glove photo-matched to the 2011-12 season. Getty Image #109356607 (February 22, 2011) has been matched to a number of marks on the wrist guard and within the pocket of the glove. Both blockers and the glove all show good game-use with numerous puck marks and wear. Next, we have a pair of Reebok 2008 NHL All-Star Game photo-matched pant shells, with Eastern Conference crest to the right pant leg, with a couple marks from game-use visible. Getty Image #79283801 (January 27, 2008 NHL All-Star Game) has been matched to the two dark marks on the middle section of the left pant leg across/near the grey striping. Rounding out the lot, there is a pair of MLX skate boots within Bauer skate shells (no blades), with this style combo used by Thomas in 2010-11, followed by Reebok pants with Bruins crest, with this style pants worn in 2010-11 and 2011-12. The group also has a Reebok chest protector with "Thomas" embroidered, initialed by Kay Whitmore as acting goaltending supervisor for the NHL, a pair of Bauer shoulder pads, a single knee pad, and a Bruins CCM equipment bag with screened logos on each side and a Tim Thomas transport label.
