Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2021
The prototype of the Original Six-era defenceman, Tim Horton was noted for his unrivaled strength and toughness, with only those gambling their safety venturing into his corner. A four-time Stanley Cup champion and six-time All-Star, Horton saw action in parts of 24 NHL seasons despite having his life cut short due to an automobile accident in 1974. Honouring the legendary blueliner, we have a framed jersey display featuring a signed cut. Sporting vintage Leafs crests over each shoulder along with “Horton” sewn to the affixed nameplate and the superstar’s iconic “7” on full display, the jersey has been mounted with the reverse showing, with an 8” x 10” photo, the signature cut, a name plaque and a pair of pins inserted beneath. Featuring an attractive blue ballpoint signature, the cut measures approx ¾” x 2” (exposed) and displays beautifully, with the jersey framed to 37 ½” x 46 ½”.
