This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Led by Captain Ted Lindsay, the 1955 Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings celebrated their 4th Cup win in 6 years, and second consecutively. From the personal collection of Ted Lindsay, we have his 1954-55 Stanley Cup Champions team photo, along with a pair of framed images. At just under 16” x 20”, the glossy print has been mounted to illustration board, and it pictures the full team in an on-ice setting. Included are Lindsay, Sawchuk, Howe, Kelly, Pronovost, Delvecchio and others. The first individual photo pictures Ted with the puck being shadowed by Elmer Lach, and it appears to be a period print. The second photo also appears period, and it pictures Lindsay in a mix up with Charlie Rayner and a Rangers defenceman. An LOA from the Lindsay family will accompany.
The Red Wings team photo shows considerable wear, with scratches, spotting and some staining and creasing, especially along the lower portion. The Lindsay/Lach photo is roughly 12” x 14 ½” (framed) and it exhibits heavy creasing throughout the entire print, with a sticker from framer “Simpson’s” on the reverse. The Lindsay/Rayner photo is approx. 16” x 20” (framed), with a number of large creases present especially in the lower left and along both sides.
