Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/29/2023
Just the seventh season of NHL action, the 1923-24 campaign featured only four clubs, with the Montreal Canadiens defeating the WCHL champion Calgary Tigers in the Stanley Cup final. Extremely scarce, we offer a Hamilton Tigers program from 1923-24 for the Dec 19, 1923 match vs Montreal (won by the Habs 3-1, Aurel Joliat scored two goals). At 6" x 9", the 10-page program includes the center line-up that lists legendary players including Georges Vezina, Sprague Cleghorn, Howie Morenz and others. There are also full page images of Tigers' Goldie Prodgers and Mickey Roach (both detached). Heavy wear with numerous creases are present, with the line-up scored with a small handwritten "x" next to each player that earned goals. NHL programs of this vintage rarely ever surface, especially for iconic clubs such as the Montreal Canadiens.
