The year 1991 would see the 27th Vanier Cup National Football Championship played in Toronto, with the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks securing their first championship with a 25-18 victory over the Mount Allison Mounties. This 10K gold ring made to commemorate the victory was presented to Rick Guenther. Size 9 ½” with a weight of approx. 29 grams, the university’s Golden Hawk is embossed across the face holding a football with inserted zirconia, encompassed by “1991” and “National Champions”. One shank features “Guenther” above, with “WLU” and “WR 76” below, while the opposite shank has an embossed image of the Vanier Cup along with the game’s score. "Jostens 10K" is also stamped on the inside band. This especially attractive ring will be accompanied by an LOA.
Exhibiting wear from use, scratches are present along the outside of the band with additional wear along edges. There is also wear with surface scratches along the inside of the band.
