Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/3/2024
Originally built in 1924 to serve as the home arena for the Montreal Maroons, the Montreal Forum is best known as being the home base for the twenty-four (24) time Stanley Cup champion Montreal Canadiens between 1926 and 1996 and was once called the "most storied building in hockey history" by Sporting News. Also hosting numerous other sport and non-sport events throughout its storied history, including concerts, offered here is this folding chair that hails from the Forum that was used as a "floor" seat for performances at the venue. Always a coveted seat, the building's first "real" rock concert in 1964 starred The Beatles and launched an odyssey that featured the likes of Dylan, Springsteen, the Stones, Led Zeppelin, Genesis, The Who, Bowie, Pink Floyd, U2, Neil Young, Joplin, Sting, Madonna, the Jacksons, Metallica and Celine Dion, just to name a few mega- stars that played under it's roof. A sturdy folding seat that features a padded seat and back that is covered in red vinyl, the cushions and black metal frame, which shows some light wear throughout from its lifetime of use, remain in overall excellent condition for their efforts. Measuring roughly 33" tall from top-to-bottom and sporting a good solid weight, don't let your collection remain void of this piece from the once fabulous Forum.
