Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021

Sauntering through Manhattan with Lord Stanley’s hardware in tow for a third time in franchise history, the New York Rangers were crowned Stanley Cup champions in 1939-40 after defeating the Toronto Maple Leafs in a hard-fought six-game series that included a trio of matches that were decided in overtime. Hailing from that historic Blueshirts season, we have 21 regular-season and playoffs photos. Ranging from 5 ½” x 7” to 8 ½” x 11 ½” and highlighted by images of the Rangers tying the Habs winning streak at 18 and a group shot of the victorious Manhattanites posed with the Stanley Cup, images include Sylvio Mantha, Frank Brimsek, Art Coulter, Bryan Hextall, Red Horner, Syl Apps, Milt Schmidt, Davie Kerr, Lynn Patrick, Turk Broda and others. The playoffs photos total 4, with two images from the semifinals vs Boston and 2 from the finals vs Toronto.
The majority of the photos sport captions and/or stamps, and exhibit moderate to heavier handling wear with wrinkles, indentations and toning, with a number also sporting creases and/or edge tears.
