A talented offensive winger, Hall was signed by the Chicago Black Hawks as a teenager and came up through their junior system, playing with the OHA's St. Cathrines Teepees before turning pro at the tender age of 21. Going on to play a total of 164 games during his time in the National Hockey League that were split between Chicago, Detroit, Minnesota and Vancouver, Hall would also find himself playing alongside Gordie Howe and his two sons as a member of the Houston Aeros of the WHA, winning back-to-back Avco Cup championships in 1974 and 1975. Offered here, we present this Vancouver Canucks jersey donned by Hall during either the 1970-71 or 1971-72 seasons, Vancouver's first two (2) in the National Hockey League. A General Athletic durene knit garment that sports a washed out label from the brand inside the reverse hem and a size "50" fly tag affixed to the inner collar, the front of the jersey is decorated with Vancouver's iconic stick-in-rink team crest that features both embroidered and chain-stitched details while white twill V's have been sewn over the stripes of both sleeves. As was commonly done by the Canucks with their jerseys of this era, Hall's original number "23" that was done in single layer blue twill numbers was removed (ghosting outlines still visible) and replaced with a screened on blue number "33" instead as the jersey was recycled down to training camp use in subsequent years. Having previously come to market in the late-1990s with the screened on numbers still exposed, in the early-2000s they were covered up by new twill ones, with their removal to expose the original still an option for the buyer. Exhibiting light-to-moderate game-wear throughout, including some stick marks over both sleeves and front, scrapes and board burns exist over both sleeves, with others in the area of the right hip as well. Also sporting team repairs totalling three (3) over the lower front with an additional one at the collar, others are seen over the reverse as caused by the removal of the original numbers. With spot staining seen throughout, heaviest around the collar bones on the front and small unrepaired holes observed as well, no fight strap is present on the interior though some pilling is found at both elbows. Of note, the first "3" on the right sleeve is only partially sewn down, revealing the screened on number underneath.
