Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/24/2021
Joining once again, in collaboration with the Montreal Canadiens, Classic Auctions is pleased to offer a large collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the storied club’s comprehensive archives. A number of historic specimens direct from the famous team including unique displays that were once marvelously displayed in the hallowed Montreal Forum and later at the Bell Centre are available, with an endless array of legendary and monumental players featured that all proudly once donned the sacred jersey of the mighty Montreal Canadiens.
En route to their first of four consecutive Stanley Cup championships, the 1976-77 NHL season witnessed a first place finish during the regular season for the Montreal Canadiens, with Guy Lafleur’s 125 points the best for any Habs player. Chicago, the Islanders and Philadelphia would all be defeated in the postseason, with just a single loss occurring. Direct from the archives of the Montreal Canadiens and most likely produced originally for display at the Molson/Bell Centre, we have a 1975-77 Montreal Canadiens framed team photo display. At approx 25” x 28”, the display features a mounted 16” x 23” modern team photo, with the year listed above and the players and management beneath including HOFers Dryden, Lafleur, Cournoyer, Gainey, Shutt, Lemaire, Lapointe, Savard, Robinson and Coach Scotty Bowman. Framed to full dimensions of approx 30” x 34”, there is wear to the frame and glass to note including a number of small nicks and blemishes. An LOA from Classic Auctions will be included.
