Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/2/2022
One of the most memorable goals ever scored and forever in the consciousness of every Canadian hockey fan, Bobby Orr achieved immortality with his epic “flying” overtime winner in Game 4 of the 1970 Stanley Cup finals, leading the Boston Bruins to the promise land while vanquishing Glenn Hall and the St Louis Blues. This extremely rare and utterly worshipable ticket from the historic May 10th contest has been recently authenticated by PSA, and serves as the ONLY FULL TICKET IN THE PSA POPULATION REPORT. At approx 1 ½” x 4”, “7” is listed as this was the 7th home game for the Beantowners during the postseason, with a stamp on the reverse sporting “Complimentary” along with a facsimile signature from Bruins president Weston Adams Jr. There is also handwritten text in pencil on the reverse which includes “Fourth Game”, “Won in Overtime 4-3” and “Brought Stanley Cup to Boston”, with clear tape also present at the sides along with a bit of surface loss along edges. The front of the ticket displays beautifully, and we should stress the importance of this scarce treasure, having served as witness to one of the greatest and most famous feats of arguably the best player to ever live.
