An absolutely killer combo for Maurice Richard and game-used memorabilia aficionados, this ensemble features the tools of the trade which helped the legendary Rocket establish yet another record. After founding the NHL’s 500-goal club the previous season, every ensuing goal broke his own record, with career regular season goal #509 being his first of the 1958-59 campaign. Research shows the goal was scored in Boston on October 12, 1958, with fellow stars Bernie Geoffrion and Doug Harvey assisting and Don Simmons the victim at 8:59 of the first period. “M Richard 9” is stamped on the shaft of this classic CCM Pattern Made Professional model stick which features its intact original knob and blade tape jobs. The puck with which the Rocket scored, includes a feint “509” on the edge of the logo and is screwed into/onto the blade. A partially torn/lifted piece of masking tape reads “Maurice Richa – 509e buts,” with an orange “line” encircling the side of the puck which exhibits a few small edge chips. A classic Maurice Richard autograph was penned by the icon on one side of the shaft and follows “Le 509 But,” while a Raymond Hardware Ltd. Sporting Goods stamp is on the other. Solid and without any cracks, not even an often-seen time crack in the tip of the blade, the excellently-preserved specimen is museum-worthy and awaiting a Rocket/game-used shrine.
