Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
While exhibiting his Herculean hockey prowess as a retired Montreal Canadiens superstar, the legendary Maurice Richard wore these very skates while playing with the Habs alumni. These desirable black and brown leather CCM skates have loads and loads of wear from use and come in an attractive display case with affixed LOA (32 ½” x 5” x 24 ½”). Each skate is mounted, with an 8” x 10” photo of Richard with the Cup and a second photo of Richard sitting alongside Bernie “Boom Boom” Geoffrion in his old-timers uniform. The Rocket signed in fine silver paint pen, "Les Patins de Maurice Richard 9", on the outside of the heel of both skates, French for "Maurice Richard's skates". The signatures present nicely, with some wear to the display case. To find authentic skates worn by the icon during his playing days is nearly impossible, especially examples affordable for the average collector.
