This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
With Maurice Richard leading the way, the Montreal Canadiens won the Cup a record five consecutive seasons from 1956-60. Richard’s 1958-59 Montreal Canadiens Stanley Cup championship trophy was produced in the early-1990s by Boffey to be displayed at the Maurice Richard museum known as “L’Univers de Maurice ‘Rocket’ Richard” that was located in Montreal. This remarkable personal Stanley Cup trophy was originally obtained from the family of Maurice Richard, and was sold in the Maurice Richard auction held by Classic Auctions in 2002. It has acquired a nice patina and stands a majestic 13” tall with “National Hockey League Stanley Cup Winners 1958-59 Club de Hockey Canadien Inc.” engraved on the barrel along with Richard listed as team captain among the 11 members of the Hockey Hall of Fame in the names of the team’s executives, staff and players listed in two columns. “Boffey” manufacturer’s sticker is affixed to the brown felt on the bottom of the black wood base. Comes with a Classic Auctions LOA.
