Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
The oldest player ever to score in the Stanley Cup Finals, Mark Recchi accomplished the feat in his 43rd year, in 2011, with three Stanley Cup championships won by the seven-time All-Star. Originating from a previous set, this Canadiens captain’s jersey was worn by the Kamloops native in the late-1990s. Sporting a single size “54” fly tag along the collar, embroidered CCM and NHL crests are situated over the reverse hem. Styled with the most famous team crest in hockey, the red V-neck has been accented with white-over-blue tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Recchi” across the affixed nameplate in single white twill. We should note that images from the 1997-98 and 1998-99 seasons show Recchi wearing the captain’s “C”, as regular team captain Vincent Damphousse missed a number of games both seasons. Obtained directly from the Montreal Canadiens, a signed LOA from Rejean Houle will accompany.
Exhibiting just very light game use as the jersey was worn sparingly, there are no obtrusive marks or damage visible whatsoever.
