Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
Hailing from a period of time in the career of "Mario the Magnificent" that included things such as back-to-back Stanley Cup championships, two (2) Art Ross Trophy's, a Hart Trophy and two (2) Conn Smythe Trophy's, offered here is this stick used by Mario Lemieux as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the early-1990s. A Koho Revolution 2240 model twig in Pittsburgh's yellow, black and white colour way, "Lemieux" is found stamped over the upper shaft while a factory code reading "0878 57" is found on the underside near the heel. Retaining Mario's original tape job of black over the handle/knob and blade, the foil accent sticker that graces the lower shaft is still present and accounted for as well as fully intact. Exhibiting good game-use, the stick displays numerous dark marks throughout the length of the shaft along with wear to the graphics. Showing additional/similar marks over the lower shaft and heel, the blade shows puck marks over both sides of the black wrapping as well as light wear to the underside that is worth noting for accuracy.
