Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
Offered here is a Mario Lemieux signed 1991-92 Pittsburgh Penguins Stanley Cup Finals
captain’s jersey, a tribute to one of the greatest players in NHL history and the Penguins’
back-to-back Stanley Cup championships. This jersey is accompanied by a JSA Auction LOA.
Manufactured by CCM, this size 54 jersey was assembled in Canada and features the Centre
Ice Authentic Collection tag sewn into the back neckline. Designed in the Penguins’ classic
black, gold, and white color scheme, this jersey features a stitched-on team crest across the
chest, with Lemieux’s iconic number “66” displayed in two-color black-on-white tackle twill on
both sleeves and black-on-gold tackle twill on the back. His last name “LEMIEUX” is sewn in
matching white twill lettering across the affixed nameplate. The
captain’s “C” is sewn onto the left chest. Additionally, the 1992 Stanley Cup Finals patch is
stitched onto the right chest, further commemorating Pittsburgh’s dominant championship run.
The interior of the jersey retains its reinforced fight strap.
Lemieux’s signature is prominently displayed in bold black marker over the front
team crest, making for a striking and highly visible autograph. The signature remains strong and
well-preserved.
The jersey exhibits signs of prior framing, with a series of small holes on each side of the front,
including the shoulders, as well as along the back bottom hem where it was previously
mounted. Despite the jersey retains its visual appeal.
