Playing four (4) years of university hockey in the United States with the Saint Louis University Billikens, Lindsay Middlebrook would go on to a career that saw him play in a total of thirty-seven (37) National Hockey League games, tending the goal for the likes of the Winnipeg Jets, Minnesota North Stars, New Jersey Devils and Edmonton Oilers between 1979 and 1983 while also spending time in various minor leagues throughout that time as well up until 1986. Traded from the Devils to the Oilers in February of 1983 and seeing action in one contest, offered here is this Edmonton jersey worn by Middlebrook's in 1982-83. A heavy mesh construction offering made by Nike, the first year that the company supplied jerseys to the Oilers and something that would remain consistent through 1988-89, a simple white fly tag with a printed "M" size designation is affixed to the inner collar while the Nike logo appears screened on over the right side of the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a dazzle twill Oilers team crest that features embroidered details as well, the Universiade '83 patch worn by the Oilers throughout the season is in place over the right shoulder and the sleeves and verso have been styled with Middlebrook's number "33" stacked tri-layer dazzle twill numerals. Displaying with "Middlebrook" spelt out across the affixed matching nameplate in single layer white dazzle twill letters, the jersey, worn for just a lone game, displays with light game wear in the form of a puck mark through the bottom of the second "3" on the right sleeve and a team repair at the bottom of the Oilers crest on the front. Utilizing a loop style fight strap on the interior, the jersey also displays with some marks over the right sleeve underneath the numbers that appear to be stains not puck marks and are not associated with game-use.
