Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
A product of Michigan State University that was drafted 45th overall by the Edmonton Oilers at the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Jeff Petry has gone on to play nearly 1000 games in the National Hockey League thus far, spending over half of those games in the famed bleu, blanc et rouge of the Montreal Canadiens. Also having played with Edmonton, Pittsburgh and Detroit, offered here is this Canadiens jersey worn by Petry throughout the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Made by Reebok and sporting a lone size "58" jersey affixed to the inner collar, a number "4" to denote the jersey as being a set four (4) example has been penned via black marker ink inside the stitch outline of the Reebok logo that graces the reverse neckline. Displaying an NHL shield crest at the bottom of the collar, the front of the jersey is decorated with Montreal's famed "CH" team crest in layered tackle twill with embroidered details while the memorial patch for Canadiens legend Jean Beliveau has been sewn on over the right breast. Accented over the sleeves and verso with Petry's number "26" in dual layer white-over-blue tackle twill numerals, "Petry" is spelt out in matching style letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Displaying just light game-wear including light board burns over the lower front and both sleeves plus some very light pilling on the interior, a Canadiens team tag numbered "A03740" is sewn inside the reverse hem. Accompanied by a matching Canadiens LOA, a team hologram numbered "GU04410" is affixed to the bottom of the "6" on the reverse, with a matching one added to the bottom of the LOA. Regarding the photo-match, the jersey is matched with Getty Image #472776580 (May 9th, 2015 vs Tampa Bay - Eastern Conference Semi-Finals Game 5) to the long loose red thread that extends from the interior of the piece at Petry's left hip.
Additionally, the jersey also comes with a helmet worn by Petry in the era of the mid-to-late-2010s. A blue coloured CCM made bucket worn during home games, all the padding is present on the interior of the piece and the strapping harness is fully intact. Having had Petry's number "26" added via decals over the crown and lower reverse, where an NHL shield sticker also resides, matching Canadiens logo stickers have been placed over either side as well. Remaining in overall good condition, light wear is observed via some light scuffs/abrasions throughout the entirety of the piece, including over the affixed Oakley branded visor that has been added over the front.
