A standout in Manhattan with the Blueshirts for over 15 seasons during the famed Original Six era, Jean Ratelle would also represent his nation during the epic Summit Series in 1972, and we offer four items celebrating both his time with the New York Rangers and Team Canada, with each hailing from his personal collection. Included, we have a framed photo of Ratelle in game-action with the Rangers, with the same image used for a large display originally mounted in Madison Square Garden (16 ¼” x 20 ¼”), followed by a small shadow box display with a trio of individually-signed Rangers pucks from GAG Line members Ratelle, Rod Gilbert and Vic Hadfield (9 ½” x 11 ¼”, with each puck signed in silver). Next, we have a certificate of recognition issued to Ratelle by the City of Toronto for the 40th anniversary of the Summit Series in 2012, signed by Mayor Rob Ford, matted and framed to 11 ¼” x 14 ½” (no glass). The final item is a litho by Paul Madden signed by 7 iconic Rangers including Ratelle. A signed LOA from Jean Ratelle will accompany.
The Madden litho is entitled “The Rangers” (18” x 39”), signed by 7 legendary HOF members with Ratelle, Emile Francis, Harry Howell (D.2019), Andy Bathgate (D.2016), Rod Gilbert, Brad Park, and Ed Giacomin. All have added flawless blue ink signatures to this limited-edition print, with the artist signing in pencil. There is wear to the frame for the Rangers photo, with a tiny bit of smudging to the signed pucks (traces of silver can be seen on areas of the pucks), along with a few minor wrinkles to the City of Toronto document. The Madden litho also sports touches to the corners.
