Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
This one-of-a-kind memento commemorates Toe Blake's career year of 1938-39 when the Canadiens' left winger led the NHL in scoring (24 goals, 47 points) and was awarded the Hart Trophy as the league's MVP. A fabulous 10K gold-filled watch by Bulova , it must have been pretty snazzy in its day, with the engraving on the back reading "Hart Trophy Winner 1939 Hector "Toe" Blake."
The watch is in working condition and appears to keep time accurately and exhibits minor cosmetic defects including scuffing/scratches and some discolouration and/or light soiling to the dial to be noted with the watch displaying well overall. The Canadiens' all-time point-getter upon his retirement, the legend's association with the Habs spanned six decades! Never has anyone combined Hall of Fame success as both a player and coach. The watch was originally obtained from a close friend of the Blake family.
